Blog Move Completed

I have successfully finished moving my blog to ZinZam.
I finished the move of the articles on the weekend, and got word up from Richard that SI hosting would not be renewed in favour of dreamhost and I would have to backup my smithydll.id.au domain.
I had 228 MiB of junk lying around on the domain which I managed to backup last night, I still need a database backup, but if I don't get it is not the end of the world.
I just setup my smithydll.id.au domain as a forward to my ZinZam blog for the time being. I've lost all the comments, but that is ok.
A lot of my documents and pictures linked to from ZinZam are missing now because I left them on my smithydll.id.au domain which now forwards to ZinZam, so I will have to upload them somewhere else to fix that. In addition to that my latex serving script is no-longer live so I will have to upload that somewhere else, I will probably be able to upload it to dreamhost somewhere.
I know my gallery2 installation has been broken all year, but I will re-upload all my micromouse photos from METR3800 to my ZinZam gallery at some point, which will be sweet. Hopefully Richard will be able to backup my old database so I can tag them with the same commentary.
That is about it from me, back to writing my thesis.

It seems Bertie was able to get all the honey out of the server, but it took a long time as honey is really sticky. It seems a rack mount server isn't the best place in the world for a bear to store their honey.
The site has also been converted over to Olympus and the new website has been released, it seems really shiny and new, hopefully Bertie won't stick honey into this one, you could imagine the result, no fun for anyone then.

Next Generation WAGDS

The next generation WAGDS is on it's way and it's gonna eat all the others alive.
Some of the features are implemented, but there is more to come, most will be worked on during December, but some of the others will be done during September through November.
The idea of this site is community, so what better way to encourage community than to make the site more my-space like. That includes better profiles, and better integration of the community features already present such as blogs and photos.
I've already implemented new green buttons, as well as added blog and photos buttons to the list. I've also integrated the friends list and you can also leave comments on your friends profiles.
To be added
Under 13's feature lockout and manditory word censoring. They will still be allows to participate to a lesser extent for privacy reasons.
Gender in profiles
Birthday in profiles
extra profile fields
Music we like
TV we like
Books we like
Movies we like
Adding a market to the trading card game
Comments on news articles
and more...
So stay tuned for other improvements.

Problems getting attachments

I'm having problems restoring the database backup on my home computer so I can adequately test the attachment MOD without fucking anything up on the site.
I am trying so bare with me please.
The backup is over 100MB of text and compatibility between a few things seems to be causing problems. You guys have been posting alot, this use to be much easier when the site was 1/6th it's size.

Well,
I have finally given in to this thing called a 'blog', known also as a weblog, or the words web log. Where web is a common term referring to the internet, and log is just a journal.
I've never kept a journal before, so this may be interresting. I intend to rant and rave alot as well as posting useful information from time to time as well.
I have made some blog posts before at spread firefox, at greenday.smigit.com, neither of which I keep up-to-date, nor intended to keep up-to-date.
Well thats it from me for now, this was really just a test to see my perma links map to .aspx extension even though I'm using wordpress php. In the future I hope to use .Text on aspx.net, but thats prohibitive due to lacking money as I am a student. I would like to thank richard for letting me have a sub-domain on his webspace.
Very Busy

I'm currently very busy.
I'm pre-occupied with uni, phpBB and other stuff, so I haven't been able to participate much on the fora recently.
The forums are yours, so make with them what you want, just try not to scare away all the noobs :D
I'm also not happy I had to delete a whole bunch of teeney bopper keywords from the dictionary.
May I also remind people to rate/comment/review and submit heaps song meanings :D
The more the merrier, I won't hold it against you if you try. Just don't be rude, mean, or propose to billie joe.
